Prince Edward OPP continue to investigate an accident where a child was injured by livestock on Sunday afternoon in Sophiasburgh.
Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment responded alongside Hastings Quinte EMS and Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue to a report of a person who had been struck by a large animal shortly after 12:00 p.m. Sunday.
Reports from the OPP and social media indicate a 10 year old was struck by a bull that had broken through a gate in the area of County Road 49. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
According to a media report in Kingstonist.com, a person attributed to be the child’s mother said the child was “ok” and was recovering from minor injuries.
