If the Classical “Unbound” Festival needed a definition this would do it justice: Taking unbinding classical chamber music from its formal attire, and binding it more closely to our hearts and souls.
In the summer of 2015 three musicians from the National Arts Centre Orchestra and one invested entrepreneur sat down to organize a series of classical concerts in intimate friendly spaces in Prince Edward County.
These concerts turned out to be fun, relaxed, stimulating and magical and thus the Classical Unbound Festival was born.
The fourth annual Classical Unbound Festival is just around the corner with only a few weeks left to obtain your passes.
In 2019 organizers have devised an alluring mix of gorgeous string quartet music divided over three evenings at three separate locations – The Grange and Hillier Creek wineries and the Old Church Theatre.
Tickets are $30 for each concert or a weekend pass for $75 with children 12 and under admitted free.
One of Canada’s premier ensembles Ironwood Quartet is organizing this year’s show.
Jessica Linnebach, Carissa Klopoushak, Julia MacLaine and David Marks are musicians with the National Arts Centre Orchestra who love escaping Ottawa and putting their hearts on the line for other musical ventures.
The foursome have been performing together as the Ironwood Quartet for nearly five years, receiving critical acclaim for their take on repertoire ranging from Haydn and Beethoven to avant-garde new music and originals.
The festivals dates are as follows:
