Before a full house at Friday night’s opening, the stars of Bittergirl: The Musical turned a breakup – or three – into something to celebrate. Under Heather Braaten’s direction, the first production of County Stage’s summer festival lineup is a stunner.

The high-energy, song-studded comedy takes full advantage of the ample space of The Regent.

Actors Susan Del Mei, Madison Hayes-Crook, and Kait Post are beautifully united in protest of a universal figure, Alexander Crowther’s pitch-perfect awful boyfriend. Not to be missed.
