The County Dragonboat club is in the waters around Wellington Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. They are always on the lookout for new members who want to get on the water, have some fun, and get some exercise.

The season runs from June until the end of September. The club participates in a couple of Regattas, this year in Trenton and Belleville. The group also organizes special outings, including full moon paddles, picnic paddles and an end-of-season potluck. 

“Our membership is slowly starting to pick up through word-of-mouth, but we are always looking for folks who might be interested,” says third-year member Melissa Newell. “We’ve got members ranging from 48 to 68 with various levels of experience.”

An annual registration fee includes life jackets and paddles, general training and generous support.

“We’re not super competitive, we are mostly about having fun, getting outside, enjoying nature and staying active,” Ms. Newell added. “If that sounds like something people are interested in, we hope they reach out.”
