Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals after a driver failed to stop for police.
On Wednesday April 19, 2023 as the result of a drug investigation officers attempted to stop a vehicle on County Road 49 in Prince Edward County.
The vehicle fled from police and continued travelling in a manner dangerous to the public. Police attempted to deploy a spike strip on Highway 62 however the suspect vehicle evaded police and continued northbound at a high rate of speed.

Officers located the vehicle abandoned in the woods off Valley Road.
With the assistance of the East Region Canine Unit and East Region Community Street Crime Unit, the vehicle occupants were located at a nearby residence. As part of the investigation officers located a loaded handgun, high-capacity magazine, handcuffs, a quantity of suspected cocaine, Canadian currency and other drug paraphernalia.
As a result, two individuals were arrested by police. Cedric Agard, 28 from Toronto and Kiersha White, 33 from Deseronto were charged with the following offences:

Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing on Thursday April 20, 2023.
