Tell us a bit about yourself?

I have been a resident of Prince Edward County for 14 years and live in Ameliasburgh (Ward 4) with my wife Lia, who is a County Girl, and our four children. The County has always felt like home to us, and after a 25-year career in the hospitality industry, Lia and I decided to move here to raise our family.

I am a solution driven leader who is not afraid to think outside the box. I am recognized for my naturally caring and a supportive characteristic, with a reputation of going the extra mile for people.

Why did you choose to run?

The County is undergoing a period of change and growth. As Councillor of Ameliasburgh my goal will be to facilitate balance between local concerns and future plans.

I love this beautiful county we live in, and I want to see it thrive. I believe that my business experience will bring a new perspective to the ‘horseshoe’ and that my contributions will help make a positive difference for the County – for the betterment of all.

My intention is to help facilitate a prosperous future for the County while honouring our unique past. Growth is inevitable, but we must retain the spirit of what makes the County the place we call home.

I am committed to working for the benefit of the people, businesses and industries of Prince Edward County.

What issues facing Prince Edward County are important to you?

There are several issues facing the County that are important to me. My top five issues are –

• The financial stability and sustainability of the municipality in the face of a declining revenue base
• Recruitment of physician and nurse practitioner
• Housing and land use development in all forms
• Infrastructure operations, maintenance and expansion (water, sewer, roads, transportation, communications)
• Attraction and retention of businesses – job creation
