HAGGARTY, Catherine Elva
Entered into rest at Hospice Quinte, Bayside, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, with her family at her side, Elva Haggarty (nee Gibson) of Picton, died at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Reginald and loved mother of Lori Powell (Roger) of Trenton, Daryl of Picton and Wayne (Catharine) of Courtice. Elva was the proud grandmother of Aaron (Cara), Nathanael, Lexie, Keiran, Sage and Kalen and great-grandmother of Kaylem, Emery, Aubrey and Kali.  She is survived by her siblings Donna Duncombe (Brian) of Burlington and Dale Amy (Cheryl) of Ancaster, predeceased by her brothers Delbert & Reg, her sisters Rae and Norma, and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Haggarty rested at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450) for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service was held in Picton Free Methodist Church on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2 pm with Pastors Kevin Stenhouse and Carl Bull officiating. Interment Quaker Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Hospice Quinte or Picton Free Methodist Church would be appreciated. Online condolences and to share memories of Elva, please visit: www.rushnellfuneralhomes.com
