Granting in the County since 2018, the Huff Family Fund is a vital support to community groups across the full range of sectors, from the arts to food security, health, and social services.
It is a matching grant: each dollar given must be matched by either dollars or volunteer time, increasing the impact.
During a day of celebration at Huff Estates Winery last month, each group presented the projects the funding would enable. “We were so pleased to recognize these wonderful local organizations receiving grants,” said The County Foundation’s Executive Director, Dominque Jones. “What makes that especially valuable is that organizations discover opportunities for collaboration, which only makes the funding go even further,” she noted.
“Art is a powerful connector,” agreed Alexandra Seay, Artistic Director of The Regent Theatre, which won a grant for a staged reading of William Shakespeare’s A Christmas Carol with puppets, the product of a collaboration between the Regent Theatre, Driftwood Theatre, and the Department of Illumination.
