HUISKAMP, Hendrik Willem “Bill”
Bill Huiskamp entered into rest at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton on Thursday, April 6, 2023, where he is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Bill was born on December 5, 1935 in Aalten, Netherlands to Gerald and Johanna Huiskamp (Ebbers). In 1947, his parents immigrated to Canada. On November 14, 1958, he married the love of his life, Henny Kempenaar. They were blessed with 5 children, Gerald Huiskamp (Zhi Fang), Jane Hoogsteen (Brandon), Johanne Strome (Stephen), George Huiskamp (Kathy), and the late Henry Huiskamp (surviving Barb). He adored and cherished his 15 grandchildren and his 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Henry Huiskamp (Audrey) and his sister Dini Ypma (Andy). Besides his family, his greatest loves were farming, his church and singing. Bill will always be remembered for his beautiful voice echoing his favourite hymns across the fields. Bill was a very compassionate, caring and giving man. His strong belief in the Lord was evident in all his actions and how he lived his life. Bill left a strong legacy for his children, grandchildren and even his great grandchildren on the importance of living a Christian life, and always helping others. Mr. Huiskamp rested at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). Visitation will be held at the Bethany Christian Reformed Church, Bloomfield on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm, followed by his Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 pm. Private Family Interment in the family plot at Quaker Cemetery, Bloomfield at a later date.
