At the library, there are programs for children at each of the six branches – everything from baby time to after school clubs and more.
Join us at the Wellington Branch Library for an after school club we’re calling “Kids Choose”. Each Thursday from 4 – 5 p.m., the group will decide on a different project or activity, including arts, photography, robotics and coding, gaming and more. Register at peclibrary.org or call the Wellington Branch at (613) 399-2023.
The newest session of Explore 4-H meets weekly at the Picton Branch on Tuesdays from 2:45 p.m. Discover some of the interesting projects that are part of 4-H. Previous groups have played soccer, sewed buttons, toured a dairy farm, picked pumpkins and a lot more, and we anticipate this session to be just as varied and exciting. For registration details, please contact Jane Thompson at [email protected] or Lynn Ward at [email protected]. Through the generosity of the Stark Family Fund through the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area, this program is
available at no charge.
Friday, February 2 is a PA Day for local schools. Join us at the Wellington Branch Library to play Super Smash Bros on the big screen, or play Mario Kart at the Bloomfield Branch from 1 -3 p.m. Registration is required at peclibrary.org. Drop into the Ameliasburgh Branch between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Consecon Branch between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., or the Picton Branch between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to create “Caring Cards” – greeting cards for the special people in your life. Participants can also opt to
leave their creations and we’ll include them in upcoming book deliveries to seniors.
Throughout the month of February, drop into the Milford Branch Library during open hours for arts and crafts. Each week, explore a new project, including stencils, Spirograph art and more. In March, activities will focus on active games for the whole family.
There are three regularly scheduled children’s programs at the Picton Branch Library.
Baby time is on Thursdays from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., Toddler Time on Fridays from 10:30
– 11:30 a.m., and Saturday Storytime and Singalong is weekly starting at 10:30 a.m.
These programs are a great time to discover the 1000 Books (or more) before Kindergarten program and celebrate reading.
Children and their grown-ups are welcome at the library any time, not just when a special program is happening. Each branch has toys you can use, baby change tables, lots of books, and we promise not to shush you. Find us on Instagram or Facebook @peclibrary or visit the library website at peclibrary.org to discover other programs and groups.
