Peacefully entered into rest at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton on Saturday, December 25, 2021 following a brief but brave battle with cancer, Owen Jones of Picton died at the age of 68. He was the son of the late Leonard & Eva Jones (nee Foster). Owen was the loving brother of Eileen Mitchell (late Gerald) of Smiths Falls, Barbara Mowbray (late Harold), Diane Splaine (Glenn), and Lee Cundy (late Jim), all of Picton and Olwyn Greene (late Ed) of Edmonton. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Owen spent his whole life in Picton and is remembered by the town and area people. He took it upon himself to beautify the Town of Picton and assisted many merchants with snow shoveling banks left by the plow trucks. Mr. Jones is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street West, Picton (613-476-2450). As per the family’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place with A Graveside Service at Glenwood Cemetery in the Jones Family Plot in the Spring 2022.
