It’s a redolent repeat of the County’s sweetest smelling festival.
The annual PEC Lavender Festival continues July 12 and 13 with its second weekend at the Lavender Farm at 732 Closson Road in Hillier.
Live music, a petting zoo, children’s games and activities, massages in the fields, face painting and vendors make for a very family friendly and aromatic experience.
And tasty. The festival boasts just about any type of food that can be made using lavender. Lavender lemonade, lavender ice cream, lavender gelato, caramel popcorn with a lavender twist, scones, lemon lavender cupcakes, and Earl Grey and lavender cookies. Yum!
“We had better numbers than we even expected,” Lavender Farm owner Jessie Kuipers said, “We had over 3,500 visitors last weekend and we are hoping for even more this weekend.”
The festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Cost is $12.50/person, children 12 and under are free and tickets are available at the gate.
