Re: Karen Valihora’s editorial on the proposed water expansion.

The project that is currently on the table is unaffordable for the rate payers of this county. I am not against the objective of expansion, but I am opposed to the all in, all now idea. What the county needs right now is affordable housing built within our current water works structure in Wellington then move forward in increments. I cannot afford this proposal as it stands; the council needs to press pause. The water ratepayers of this county cannot afford a full blown, right now expansion. County leaders need to start leading by listening and having dialogue with users on the best way to move forward. Our newspapers have a responsibility to look at both sides of the coin when writing editorial opinions.
