To the Editor,
As a water customer in Picton, I have been following with interest the articles in our two great county newspapers. I saw there was to be a meeting at the Bloomfield Town Hall, to better inform us of of the very expensive and necessary additions to our sewer and water.
I arrived early Thursday night, expecting a large crowd, parked across from the hall as people gathered and checked the locked door. At 5:50 p.m. the door opened and about 50 of us filed slowly in.
What we found were 29 pages of what l believe was an engineering report and presentation displayed on easels circling the hall. A gentleman came up to me and asked if I had any questions. I asked if there would be any presentation, he said no, but we will answer your questions.
I looked around at the number of people trying to study the boards, which we had two hours to check out, and headed for the door.
If they had locked me in until 8 a.m., I may have been able to study every board and possibly have some intelligent questions.
I am a strong supporter of our County Council. I truly believe they try to do their best, with the limited funds our tax base allows, however, this was not a learning experience for me.
