Displaced Syrian family says thank you

Nancy Parks on behalf of PapaGhanoush and MommaHummus – Adnan Mustafa, Suhaila El Husein and their children.

In the aftermath of their tragic home fire, many friends, families, community members, and businesses came together to support Adnan Mustafa & Suhaila El Husein and their family by rehoming them and helping to restart their business PapaGhanoush MommaHummus.

As English is not their first language, they find it difficult to express their deep appreciation adequately and have asked me to help facilitate getting their message out.

They would like to relay their deep and heartfelt appreciation for not only the incredible monetary donations but also for the hugs and concern, the offers of housing & commercial kitchen space,
donations of food, clothing, furniture, vehicles, insurance and paperwork support and transportation, especially when their son had his long-awaited surgery and was in the hospital for two weeks, just days after the fire.

The following is a message from Adnan in his own words:

“We really want to thank everyone for all the support. You helped us stand on our feet and hope we didn’t let you down. From the time the fire started and when we came back to Wellington everyone stood by our side. I do not know how to thank everyone; my family and I really appreciate it very much and we do not know how to explain our thanks and love. Canada is wonderful and has wonderful people.”

Adnan, Suhaila, Ahmad, Hwaya, Abudi, Nasr
& Yosef
