To the Editor,
I must say that I was rather stunned when I read the Thursday September 7th issue of the Gazette.
The front page headline written by Karen Valihora stated, “NDP’s Stiles critical of Greenbelt corruption.” On page 7, Ms. Valihora wrote about her conversation with Alexandra De Gasperis and about the future of Base31 in glowing terms.
How could this reporter not make the link between the De Gasperis family, TACC, and the corruption around the Greenbelt?
The owner of TACC is Silvio de Gasperis and he owns a large portion of the land that was released from the Greenbelt. In fact, Mr. De Gasperis fought the General Auditor’s summons to answer questions about the land swaps.
I believe that your readers deserve to get the complete picture concerning the owners of Base31 and how they will move forward with the development of this large parcel of land.
