In 1966 my wife, small son and I travelled to Prince Edward County complete with Volkswagen and tent trailer on a camping trip from Quebec. We were delighted to find a delightful shady mini park quite by accident with a picnic table.
After a pleasant lunch we carried on to try to buy a small farm. The farm is still here as are we and Benson Park is still much the same.
I strongly agree with Susan Banks’ comments in her letter. Why is the administration again trying to fix something that isn’t broken? I have seen expensive playgrounds in other places and much prefer grass. I still enjoy walking through the park as it is. There is already a small playground. If a bigger one is essential surely there are other sites.
Leave it alone and concentrate on mangling the town hill with a traffic circle and pedestrian crosswalks. It isn’t broken either.
