RE: LOSING PICTON AIRPORT WILL BE A SHAME Sep.21, 2023

Yes losing such an airport with immense rich history will be a shame. However, the lands are now and have been for a long time private and as such exist at the pleasure of the owners. And it is not the pleasure of the current owners to operate an airport on their land!

There is a solution and a good one at that.

Mountain View airport, currently owned and operated by Trenton Air base could easily become a multi use airport serving the military, commercial and private aircraft. It would be a huge benefit to Belleville, Trenton and Prince Edward County.

We just need the various levels of government to show us they can actually work together for the betterment of their constituents.
