I don’t often have the opportunity to interact with our Healthcare system here in the County. However,my experience with them started on Tuesday afternoon January 24th when I lost my balance going up a set of stairs at the Elks Hall.
Falling down four steps I cut my forehead , both knees, and one arm. The people who were there took care of me and phoned 911 since I was bleeding profusely from my forehead. The ambulance arrived within 10 minutes .
The paramedics took over and transported me to the Emergency at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital where I was expertly cleaned up, stitched up ( four stitches ), had my shoulder xrayed for any fractures and then shipped off to Belleville for an MRI making sure there was no bleeding or fracture inside my head.
In spite of the criticism these overworked and hard pressed medical staff receive , they continue to do a fantastic job.
I am taking this opportunity to thank the paramedics, the doctors and nurses, xray technician ,and the patient transfer team at PEMH and the MRI technicians at Belleville General Hospital . They were the best caring and organized teams I was blessed to have work on me.
I can’t say enough about them except Thank you, Thank you , Thank you!
A most grateful patient
