A few years ago my friend Erla Lank and my daughter Cindy Sly arranged a surprise birthday party for me.

They did it well, I was truly surprised. The highlight of the party was my gift.

Knowing my favourite charity is the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, everyone attending the party provided funds which I in turn presented to PECMHF in my name.

Wow…Best present ever! I’m hoping others will be encouraged by my story and do the same thing.
