After my first visit to the County First website, I was struck by how contrived and manufactured their “news” section appeared. It read exactly as one would expect an AI-generated piece would read.
They openly admit that the majority of their research and content is computer generated. This strikes me as yet another example of the insidious nature of AI and the nefarious causes it can be used to promote. History has many examples of dictators and authoritarian regimes using their power to silence or discredit the media. It is imperative that we all be extremely vigilant when consuming internet media as AI is now widespread.
Thankfully, the Gazette’s dedication to real, honest journalism, created by human beings as opposed to computers, has uncovered this blatant and amateurish attempt to sway public opinion with false or misleading data. It is not surprising that PECRA would resort to such tactics as it appears to be interestined in just a few local issue “hot buttons”.
PEC is fortunate to have two, thriving local print media outlets presenting, as they should, differing views and opinions of local issues and challenges. They both have their share of followers and those who disagree with their editorial stances, which is exactly what a free and open media should be. Again, kudos to the Gazette for excellent, fact based, investigative journalism.

Enclosed please find a poem, “Global Fatigue.” It has been sent to all three Trumps in the White House East Wing. I’ve also copied the Royal Family via George, the future King Geoge VII.
The assumption that military conflict is the only option in today’s world requires global debate, not a rubber stamp.
Canada and the other NATO members should not be railroaded into ponying up 5 percent of GDP on the dmeand of the U.S. President, a shill for the military industrial complex and its vast array of lethal weapons.
It’s time for the free world to say No.
Global Fatigue
In 2025, although some of us
are still alive
We, to a person, it’s
safe to say
Are suffering Global
Fatigue today.
Exhausted to the point
Of death
Hardly able to draw
Another breath
We are victims of
Man’s folly
Whose destructive
Ways
Keep them grinning
And jolly.
Those of us who’ve
Made it to our ’80s
Have a sense of
Deja Vu
Don’t we realize?
War is now on the
Horizon again
The economy’s
Saying where?
And when?
In our lifetimes
We’ve seen it all.
Leaders rise and
Leaders fall
But, to a person,
They have Feet of Clay.
Why must it always
Be this way?
Women of the world
Arise
Let’s take over
It’ll be no surprise.
The hand that rocks
The cradle
Rules the world.
It’s time for us to
Lead the globe
And create a society
Where we don’t need
To disrobe
That serves the
Needs of us all:
8 billion.
It doesn’t need to cost
a million.
We can all do
Really very well
Once we’ve shed
This eternal Hell.

I have only just cracked the most recent Gazette, which I guess is a week old at this point. The granola assessment: don’t tell John, but I agree completely. For one thing, John doesn’t cook his enough. I believe Anne’s might contain cinnamon. It probably contains more sugar. It is better in every respect. Anne has more competition with Heidi’s granola than with John’s.
On another note, the Fair Book is aptly named.
Name witheld by Request, Montreal
Anne’s granola is better than John’s??? No way. I taught her everything she knows.
