Peacefully entered into rest at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Picton on Saturday, October 2, 2021, Violet Lewis-Coghlan (nee Linkie) of Maple Manor, Picton, formerly of R. R. 2, Hillier, passed away at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Frank & Jean Linkie (nee Steele). Violet was the beloved wife of Allan Lewis of Picton and the late Victor Coghlan. She was the loving mother of Byron Coghlan, Yvonne Huff (David) and Kevin Coghlan (Joan), all of Bancroft, Ray Coghlan (Mary Anne) of New Baltimore, Michigan, Eldon Coghlan (Jean) of Belleville and she was predeceased by her son Glenn Coghlan and Carolyn Zachiariah. Violet was the step-mother of Paul Lewis (Bonnie) of Bloomfield, Steven Lewis (Nancy) of Picton, Scott Lewis (Sharon) of Lower Hainesville, New Brunswick and Brian Lewis (Jazmine) of Tweed. Violet will be fondly remembered by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Hazel Conley of Picton and her brothers Alf Linkie of Belleville and Irvine Linkie of Oshawa. Violet is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Coghlan, Doreen Porcheron and her brother Ken Linkie and she will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lewis-Coghlan is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street West, Picton (613-476-2450) for visitation on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Corey Street, Bloomfield on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Shawn Hippern officiating.
