Our hearts are breaking to announce that after a courageous and determined battle with cancer our beloved Janice MacLeod who we loving referred to as Madge, passed away at her home in Consecon ON, on Saturday June 26th, 2021, surrounded by her loving Family. Throughout her illness, Janice faced this challenge with heroic grace, strength and faith. Born July 16th, 1962 in Belleville, pre-deceased by parents Bernard and Gertrude Smith. Loving and cherished wife of Robert MacLeod of Consecon, devoted mother to Joshua (Michelle) of Carrying Place and Megan MacLeod (Zack Genereaux) of Trenton. Step mother to Jennifer Putman (Dan Clarke) of Trenton, Sally McAllister (Derek) of Waterloo, and Sara Diefenbacher (Brad) of Elmira. Doting Mimi to several grandchildren including Baby Peanut MacLeod to be born on Aug. 21, 2021. Beloved Sister in Law to many. Sweet and adored Sister of Virginia Koradi (late Jim), Valerie Lentini (Albert) , Brian Smith (Eileen), Michael Smith (Debbie), Pam Smith (Tom), Chris Macdonald (Ron), Stephen Smith, Trisha Sparkes (Glenn) and Linda Westlake (Steven). Loved and remembered by many Nieces and Nephews. A committed and loyal long time employee with over 40 years of service as a Dietary Aid at Hastings Manor, Janice will be missed by many friends, co-workers and residents for her positive attitude, smiling face and helping hand. Long-time supporter and Committee Member of the Violence Awareness and Random Acts of Kindness Program. Past recipient of the Kindness Citizen of the Year Award. Devoted volunteer for many years to the Christmas Sharing Program. Janice will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbours on Wellers Bay and was a most gracious hostess of Family Reunions and the Annual A.G.W. Janice will be fondly remembered for the beautiful smile on her face and the happiness in her heart. Rest in peace sweet angel you have touched so many lives with your selfless kindness. Special thank you to Para Med for your wonderful support, service and care during this difficult time. If desired donations can be made to the Belleville General Hospital Oncology Unit, the Kingston General Hospital Oncology Unit or a Charity of your choice.
