A Kingston man has a court date in Picton next month after trying to pass off as someone else to Prince Edward OPP.
On Thursday, April 22, 2021 shortly after 1 a.m., members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Detachment conducted a traffic stop on County Road 1 in Hallowell Ward.
The driver initially provided officers with false identification. The accused was eventually identified by officers and, as a result was arrested.
Randy Vankoughnett, 36, from Kingston, was charged with the following criminal offences:
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on May 26, 2021.
