Travellers now have another way to make the journey to the County from Toronto, thanks to a seasonal FlixBus route launched earlier this month. Beginning July 5, the bus will make one round trip per day, five days a week—Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday—with stops at Toronto’s Pearson Airport and Union Station, and then Scarborough, Whitby-Oshawa, Trenton, Wellington, Bloomfield and Picton. Running throughout the summer, it provides residents and visitors with an affordable alternative to driving.
The bus departs Toronto’s Pearson Airport at 6:50am. It leaves Toronto Union Station at 7:30am and arrives at Wellington at 10:30am, in Bloomfield at 10:40, and the Picton Rexall Plaza at 10:50am. It departs Picton for Toronto at 2pm. A one way ticket is about $40, while a return trip is $80.
The new connection could ferry visitors exploring local wineries, beaches, restaurants and shops, while giving residents another option for commuting to the city, or catching a flight.
PEC Transit Coordinator Vincent de Tourdonnet says the new route will help address mobility gaps while supporting the municipality’s broader vision for transit.
“The more we build our transit, the more residents will benefit from it,” he said, noting that initiatives designed to attract visitors also improve mobility for people who live in the County.
Additional County Transit routes will be announced this summer.
