Konwatsi’tsya’yon:ni: Molly of the Mohawks is the creation of Kahéhtoktha Janice Brant and depicts Molly Brant, sister of Joseph Brant. Unlike her famous brother, there are no portraits of Molly and artist Janice Brant has chosen to depict her in this work as faceless like a corn husk doll. Molly Brant was an important figure in the resettlement of Katorokwe (Cataroqui) and Janice Brant’s tribute piece is on display at the Truth and Reconciliation exhibit at Macaulay Mueseum. The museum is open 1-4 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday and the exhibit is co-sponsored by Tsi Tyónnheht Onkwawén:na Language and Culture Centre.
