PEARSALL, Marjory Marie
Those who know Marjory understand the world has lost a loving, gracious, and intelligent person. Marjory Pearsall entered into rest at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton, on Monday, August 21, 2023. Marjory (nee Foster) of Sophiasburgh, died at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Percy. Loving mother of Phil (Ginny) of Demorestville, John (Sylvia) of Belleville and Kathy Pearsall (late Neill) of Picton. Loving grandma of Sara (Sean), Eric (Emily), Rachel (Steven), Erin (Dan), Josh (Morgan), and Seamus and great grandma of Emmett, Easton, Henry, Quinn, Kailey and Conor. Dear sister of the late Martin Foster (late Hilda), Shirley Swan (late Ralph) of Trenton and sister-in-law of Shirley Haggerty (late Jack and late Garth) of Wallaceburg. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Marjory’s life was marked by resilience and strength of character, making her an inspiration and mentor to family and friends alike. She grew up in Prince Edward County where she started her career at the age of 19 teaching in a one-room school house. She taught in this same community for 40 years and most of that time was at Sophiasburgh Central School. She was a lifetime member of Friendship United Church where she was active in various committee work, vacation Bible school and spearheaded the annual Christmas Day Dinner for the community. When she joined the Demorestville Women’s Institute, she met some of her closest and best friends – a group of likeminded people who never passed up an opportunity to pull together and help their community. This group of friends and her work with the WI became very important to her throughout her later years. Mrs. Pearsall rested at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). A Memorial Service will be held in Friendship United Church, 2765 County Road 5, Demorestville on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 1 p.m. with visitation in the church from 11:30 am until time of Service.
