A new festival to celebrate the beginning of summer is set to take off in Prince Edward County. PECelebrate is intended to be a new fun-filled community event from June 25 – July 1 that will kickstart the summer season.

The week-long festival will feature a variety of community celebrations including Indigenous Peoples Day, Canada Day, Multiculturalism Day and St. Jean Baptiste Day.

“We have been through some challenging times over the past two years, but the County spirit remains strong. I look forward to us coming together as a community to celebrate and mark the start of summer. A lot of great activities are planned, and I am sure the community festival will have something for everyone,” said Mayor Steve Ferguson.

The first event, Revel, is scheduled on June 25^th from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Macaulay Heritage Park. Produced by The County Museums, the event will celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day and Multiculturalism Day with music, food, art and community partnerships.

The PECelebrate Festival will continue throughout the week with a variety of events across the County, culminating with Canada Day celebrations at the Picton Fairgrounds on July 1^st.

The Canada Day event will feature activities for kids, a barbeque, and other activities.

The full schedule for PECelebrate Festival, including details about Canada Day, will be announced in early June.
