A three day investigation into thefts at area farms in Prince Edward County has led to charges for a Picton man.
On August 23, 2021 Prince Edward Count Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) commenced an investigation into a string of thefts from road side farm stands within Prince Edward County.
These stands were unattended and customers were able to purchase their wares using the honour system.

Sunnydale Farm in Waupoos was one of the farms that had their cash box emptied twice in a single day.
Social media posts indicate at least eight farm stands in Prince Edward County had been raided recently.
As a result of the investigation that included a cell phone picture of the suspects car and licence plate (above), on August 26, 2021 members of the OPP Prince Edward County Detachment and the East Region Community Street Crime Unit charged Andrew Frost, 43, of Picton with two counts under the Criminal Code (CC) Sec. 334(b) Theft under $5,000.
Frost was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Prince Edward County on September 29, 2021. Prince Edward OPP are urging any produce stands in the area that may have been subject to the same activity to contact them at 613-476-2151.
