Orange channel letters dotted with single-watt LED marquee lights now announce Rosetta, the new venture by Chefs Grant Van Gameren and Jesse Fader.
The sign was fabricated by County Precision, a family-owned custom metal shop.
The restaurant falls within the Picton Main Street Heritage Conservation District. The Built and Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee reviewed the plans and recommended a heritage permit, duly approved at Council last week.
The task team noted the level of light would not create a visual imbalance on the street.
“In strong daylight, it’s virtually impossible to discern that it’s lit. Later in the afternoon, perhaps, it will become a low level glow. It could be a rather pleasant lighting level,” said committee member Edwin Rowse. Rosetta’s name went up in lights this weekend.
