By any measure, the 2025-26 Ontario Minor Hockey Association season was a successful one for the Prince Edward County Kings.
The U15 Heidelberg Kings came within a goal of the first All Ontario title for the local minor hockey association since 2020.
The U18 Prinzen Ford Kings were one shot away from winning the Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League championship.
After losing out to the Loyalist Jets in the EOMHL Finals, the U13 Terra Vista Kings capped off their post season with a win over Durham at the 2026 Warriors Tournament.
And based on the all smiling faces at the 2026 PECMHA Rep Banquet and Awards night at Highline Hall Friday, the U9 County Farm Centre/Beatty Seeds Kings and the U11 Otter Energy Kings had loads of fun on and off the ice this season.
The Kings gathered to host their first in person banquet since 2019. PECMHA President Charlene Insley said after a seven year hiatus, the executive felt it was time to bring back the annual Rep Award Banquet.
“It’s a way for our hockey family to come together to celebrate our success and our commitment to providing affordable, but competitive programming for our families,” she told the Gazette.
Each team honoured its Most Sportsmanlike, Most Improved and Most Team Spirit players for 2025-26. Award winners included:

U9- Gavin Cordes (MDP), Lyndon Stiff (MIP), and Adelyn & Macy Milanovic (MTS).

U11- Declan Lane (MDP) (MIssing), Alex Runions (MIP), and Dylan DiBerto (MTS).

U13- Luke Prinzen (MDP), Oliver Hyrorsky (MIP), and Oliver Jenkins (MTS).

U15-Will Prinzen/Nate Howe (MDP), Jasper Quaiff (MIP), and Gavin Hebert (MTS).

U18 Alex Lavender (MDP), Jake Banfield (MIP) and Jack Lavender (MTS).

The Don Wight Memorial Coach of the Year Award- U15 Head Coach Brad Quaiff.

Manager of the Year- U13 Manager Beth Van der Bij.

The Matt Stever Memorial Award for leadership and dedication- Luke Prinzen.

PECMHA Volunteer Appreciation Award- Initiation to Hockey program coordinators Darren and Debbie Yuill.
