The sounds of Fleetwood Mac won’t be just on your radio come next weekend.
Internationally known tribute band Tommy Youngsteen will be rocking a Fleetwood Mac “Rumours” tribute show at the picturesque grounds of Fields on West Lake just east of Wellington.
The event runs Fri., July 12 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. and is an all ages event.
Tickets are $49.50, but organizers are asking the public to keep an eye out for a flash sale of tickets 24 hours before the event.
There is also plenty of free parking and a to-and-from shuttle service will be available.
The band is North American’s premier Bruce Springsteen tribute band and features an All Star Juno winning super-group made up of members and alumni from The Sam Roberts Band, Stars, The Stills, Sloan, The Trews, The Arkells, Serena Ryder Band & The Grapes of Wrath.
As an opening act, Tommy Youngsteen is bringing in The Layrite Boys Bluegrass duo who also played at County Pop back in May.
“This is the first event I’ve organized like this with food and things like that,” said Alan Snoddy, organizer for the event. “I would like to try and make it an annual event in this area in the summer if it goes well, which it looks like it’s going well.”
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with food and drinks available for purchase and music starting between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
After the opening set of the Layrite Boys there will be a short break and then the full “Rumours” record will be played as a set.
There will be a curated menu by celebrity chef Jamie Kennedy, signature cocktails by Kinsip Fine Spirits along with ice cold brews and vintages provided by Midtown Brewery, Sandbanks Winery & Huff Estates, respectively
“He (Kennedy) will be the chef for the evening and will be doing a sort of fancy “Fleetwood Mac big mac” kinda burger with salads and his fries that are pretty well known in the County,” added Snoddy.
Over the last decade members of Tommy Youngsteen have performed well over 5.000 shows from Canada all the way to Japan and have shared the bill and opened for artists such as Paul McCartney, The Eagles, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Coldplay just to name a few.
Members have also made appearances on Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Conan O’Brien Show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
“It’s nice to see the event come together,” Snoddy expressed. “You go and visit the venue, there’s nothing there, it’s empty and then the day of the event everyone comes in, sets up, it gets going, people start to arrive and you see people having fun and dancing.”
