SHEASBY, Margaret Anne
August 19, 1934 – November 2, 2022
Margaret Anne Wilson passed away with her son by her bedside in Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Picton, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.Margaret, as she was known to everyone in Western Canada, Anne as she was known to all back east, was born in Montreal, spent her early years in Baie Comeau before her family moved to Calgary, where she attended high school before studying at the University of Oregon. Upon graduating, she returned to Calgary, where she met and married Norman Sheasby in 1958. Although they both loved Alberta, especially skiing in the Rockies, Margaret Anne also had strong interests in the arts, especially painting and performance art, which made an opportunity to move to Toronto appealing, and where two children, Andrew and Stacy, were welcomed into the family. Margaret Anne was an accomplished conversationalist and story-teller, making her popular in any social gathering. She was unflappable and good-humoured, essential for travel with Norm – who was also the source of many of her stories. After Norm retired and they moved to Picton, Ontario, Margaret Anne continued developing her social contacts and artistic interests, becoming adept at watercolour and acrylic painting and curating the costumes for a local theater company. She was a friend to many, a devoted mother to Stacy and Andrew, a loving grandmother to Calvin and Tyler, and so much more. She will be dearly missed. Her final wishes were that her remains be interred with her sister at a spot important to her and her family in the foothills in Alberta and a small ceremony will take place at that time.
