Tragedy struck on a north Prince Edward County road on Saturday morning.
On Monday, Prince Edward OPP confirmed the identities of the two teenaged victims of a car crash on County Road 23 near Victoria Road. Driver Justin Crowe, 19, of Ameliasburgh and his passenger, Sarah Bradbury, 17 of Belleville, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which took place around 11:30 July 9.
According to the OPP, the initial investigation indicates that the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and rolled.
The investigation continues with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Reconstructionist.
Crowe played hockey this season for the Frankford Huskies of the Provincial Junior Hockey League, scoring one goal in 10 regular season games.
In a statement on social media, the Huskies said they were “devastated at the news of the passing of Justin Crowe” and “our hearts break on the news of the passing of Justin and his girlfriend Sarah.”
A celebration of life ceremony for Crowe is scheduled Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at Roblin Lake in the village of Ameliasburgh.
