1912:
- Invitations are out for the dance in Oddfellows Hall on Thursday evening, April 16th. Sprague’s Orchestra to furnish the program.
- Mrs. H.W. Bedell entertained the Tennyson Club last Tuesday evening for the final meeting of the season. A most delightful time was had by all members.
- The annual sale of Holsteins, and the banquet of the Holstein Breeders’ Association attracted many Prince Edwarders to Belleville last Thursday.
1952:
- The Wellington Board of Trade announced it would be celebrating St. George’s Day on April 25 at the Wellington Consolidated School.
- The Couples’ Club of Demorestville Pastoral Charge held its Wednesday evening meeting in the basement of Fairmont Church with a good attendance.
- Picton R.C.S. of A (AA) and the camp at Point Petre was in the news as it again would be the scene of summer training for many anti-aircraft units.
1972:
- Residents of Sophiasburgh Township have a new number to call after April 15 in case of fire. The number is 476-2211.
- Prince Edward Collegiate Institute’s dedicated young safety experts Monday pulled off their second Ontario Championship within three years.
- The Quinte Isle Swimming Pool Committee, which officially takes over from the Picton Rotary Club the implementation of a community swimming pool project, had their first meeting.
1982:
- The Ameliasburgh Senior Citizens Club sponsored its weekly Wednesday night euchre party on April 7 with 11 tables in play.
- A grant of $500 was given to the Glenwood Cemetery Board by Hallowell Township Council at its recent meeting.
- A motorcross race is being planned by the Bayside Trail Blazers and two club representatives, Dave Leavitt and Kevin Jones.
