1910

• The Ameliasburgh Lodge No. 262, A. O. U. W. paraded to Methodist Church where Rev. F. J. Anderson preached a very eloquent and instructive sermon. He was assisted by Rev. M. Nickel.
• A Mr. Ernst, of Rochester, N. Y., who is a guest at the “Evergreen” house. Sandbanks appeared in the Police Court charged with violating the law in regard to the speed of automobiles. Mr. David McMullen was the complainant
• The action of a cow at the village of Rossmore one evening last week not only caused considerable excitement but resulted in a resident of Belleville being injured, but fortunately not seriously.

1940

• The regular meeting of Mountain View Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Clark Sprung, Mountain View with 40 members and visitors present. The meeting opened with the Ode and the Lord’s prayer.
• To drift helplessly in the turbulent waters of Lake Ontario for 16 hours, with the raft of logs he was riding gradually breaking up, until only three were left, was the harrowing experience of Jim Clarke, 18, of Picton.
• An enviable record and one believed to be unequalled in the province has been established by Mrs. James Hedges of Picton. She completed knitting 150 pairs of socks during the past 11 months.

1970

• As the result of a bylaw passed by Picton town council, the Ontario Housing Corporation will operate and manage the $154,000, 16-unit senior citizens housing project.
• Mike Bond is the 18-year-old son of Walter Bond, 36 Queen St. who has operated Bond’s Ambulance Service in the Picton area for 12 years. Mike has been working full-time with his father for about a year now.
• The cast of The Magic Trumpet, the children’s play undertaken by the Quinte Isle Theatre this summer, is getting a wide-ranging reputation. The group has been invited to perform at the outdoor amphitheatre at Bon Echo Park.

1980

• With the philosophy “life begins at 80” Prince Edward County’s oldest living warden John Weese of Ameliasburgh is a firm believer the first 80 years of life are the hardest. Mr.. Weese is 90-years-old.
• There was a record number of entires in the sixth annual South-eastern Ontario Street meet held in Ameliasburgh and sponsored by the Prince Edward Auto Club. More than 250 street rod and antique car owners brought vehicles to the show.
• The annual Consecon Adult Summer Fishing Derby organized by Branch 509 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Consecon, once again proved to be a successful event. Fishing confined to Consecon Lake and Wellers Bay for pike, pickerel and bass.
