For many years Community Care was able to source free calendars for seniors and then a couple years ago we ran into issues finding any.
The pandemic is lingering on and we’re still not having people drop into the office so we can’t offer free calendars again this year. One of the reasons seniors really liked the one calendar in particular is because it had the cheque dates listed on it. You can find the OAS and CPP payment dates on the Federal Government website at this link and click on “payment calendar”: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/calendar.html
The 2023 payment dates have already been posted on the government website. Clip this column or write the dates on your own calendar. Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security payment dates for 2023 – Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 29, April 26, May 29, June 28, July 27, Aug. 29, Sept. 27, Oct. 27, Nov. 28, and Dec. 20, 2023. Veteran disability pension payment dates for 2023 – Jan. 30, Feb. 27, March 30, April 27, May 30, June 29, July 28, Aug. 30, Sept. 28, Oct. 30, Nov. 29, and Dec. 21, 2023.
2022 Seniors’ Active Living Fair continues for December and it’s virtual and FREE!!! This is the last month of three months where Community Care is holding the 2022 Seniors’ Active Living Fair as a virtual event taking place online using Zoom Webinars. All seniors 60+ are welcome to attend these free events. Local businesses and organizations are presenting 1 hour Zoom Webinars every Tues. and Wed. from 1-2 p.m. All seniors who participate will receive a free “Swag Bag” from Community Care and the presenters filled with great stuff including pamphlets, treats and information flyers. “Door Prizes” will be drawn at each webinar and one participants will win. December Zoom Webinar topics include “Keeping Our Community on the Move” with Shelly Acker from County Transit; “Why Brain Health is so Important” with Jennifer Loner; “Actions you can take to live your best life” with Bernadette Hymus from Public Health; “Fraud Awareness, Current Scams and Safe Winter Driving” with Constable Aaron Miller from the PEC OPP.
We’re just thrilled to also offer “20 Questions – A chance to ask anything you might want to know more about from your local OPP” with Staff Sgt. John Hatch, Detachment Commander of the PEC OPP.
