Published in this week’s center spread is the Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival’s program, for two separate weekends this fall: September 18-20 & October 2-4. See the program on pages 14-15 of the print edition.
The Church of St. Mary Magdalene will be host to a rich variety of concerts. The first weekend features music from Bach to Beethoven, Dvorak and Rachmaninov performed by well-known Canadian ensembles. The second weekend branches out to contemporary sounds. Jazz singer Caity Gyorgy will make her third appearance in the County since her 2023 debut and Composer in Residence Carmen Braden brings a blend of the singer-songwriter and contemporary classical to a number of events.
The festival’s highlight will be a recital by internationally renowned violinist James Ehnes, who is touring Canada in celebration of his fiftieth birthday. Click here for an interview with Mr. Ehnes.
