Dorothy went to Wonderland at PECI last week.

The school’s production of Dorothy in Wonderland combined Alice in Wonderland with characters from The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy in Wonderland is a fractured fairy-tale about Dorothy set in Wonderland.

Aubrey Demianchuk starred in the leading role as Alice, while Abby Wilkinson played Glinda the Good Witch. The opportunity to polish and showcase their acting skills helps the students develop into true stage performers.

On May 29th and 30th, 50 students from Grades 4-8 performed and produced the musical. Students from Grades 2 and 3 took part in the production as a choir.

The production included many students from PECI’s elementary wing, giving them a chance to express themselves through their love of drama and performance.

The play combines characters from Alice and Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz, including Alice, Dorothy, Glinda (The Good Witch), the King of Hearts, Toto, and others.

Many students took part in the play without appearing on stage. They worked behind the scenes on lighting, audio, direction, and other important production roles. This helps include all students in the musical and creates an exciting environment for all.
