If you have extra stuff that you don’t need we’d like to encourage you to donate your good used household items and furniture to Community Care’s Thrift Shop.
It’s spring and a great time to clean out your drawers, closets, storage rooms and garage. When you donate your things to Community Care’s Thrift Shop you’ll know that you’re helping seniors live at home. It’s easy to do this. Just drop off your donations at 153 Main Street in Picton on Mondays from 1-4pm and Tuesday to Friday from 10am-4pm.
To arrange for pick-up of larger items or for further information call the Thrift Shop at 613-476-1555. The volunteers would be really happy to talk to you! Drop in to the Thrift Shop soon to see the wide selection of clothing for the whole family, household items, toys, linens, books, sports equipment, small appliances, frames, cookware, dishes, tools and furniture. There are one-of-a-kind items too. New stock arrives daily thanks to our generous donors. One of the best ways to make new friends is to work with them as a volunteer. If that’s a goal for you then we’ve got an ideal volunteer position. Spend three hours a week volunteering at Community Care’s Thrift Shop. It’s a great way to meet new people and help seniors live at home. No retail experience is necessary.
One of our volunteers says “I enjoy volunteering at the Community Care Thrift Shop because it allows me to make a meaningful and purposeful contribution to our Picton community to keep seniors living at home. Our customers really do appreciate what we do and love the great bargains we provide … it’s a win-win situation for all.” 100 per cent of the proceeds help County seniors live at home.
For more information call the Thrift Shop at 613-476-1555, check the website at www.communitycareforseniors.org and like our Facebook page so you don’t miss sales and promotions. Studies show without a doubt what we’ve always known…that volunteers live longer, healthier, happier lives.
Feel free to go into Community Care’s Thrift Shop at 153 Main Street and ask the volunteers about their experiences in the shop.
