I am a born and raised Prince Edward County local and the third generation to farm on Prince Edward soil. I live and work on my family farm with my wife and two young boys of our own, and I hope one day will also get to enjoy working on the family farm. I am the owner/operator of my bulk water business that I built from the ground up almost six years ago. During the day you can find me in a field or working on equipment and in the evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my family.
My choice to run for council has been something I have been thinking about over the past few years, but recently I noticed a need for change now more than ever.
I have stood by and watched our proud community which was once full of support and great leadership unfortunately be turned into frustration and anger. I took notice as past and current council members started forgetting what was most important, and that is our locals.
Many times, decisions have been made without considering the effects on locals. Therefore, my reason to run for Prince Edward County Council is to put our locals first and help make sure their voices and concerns are heard!
Some of the issues I see Prince Edward County facing are, a lack of affordable housing for our current locals, a shortage of doctors and healthcare workers in our area with no real initiatives to bring these professionals here, protecting our farmlands from developments, and providing more readily available water and beach access for locals. These are a few of the issues I have heard locals speak of and I look forward to tackling other issues members of our community bring to my attention if elected.
