Winter Freeze 2025 was an octane-fuelled success. Amateur Ice Races organizer Andrew Hennessy was thrilled with the turnout of 450 people at his ice oval on Upper Lake Street February 2.
“Overall, we were really happy with the turnout of racers considering we had to push the event back a day,” he said. “For 450 people to come out at the last second and cheer everyone on — it was great to see that.” A total of 35 racers took part in Winter Freeze.
Classes included snowmobiles, 2WD quads, 4×4 ATVs, dirt bikes and a 110 cc class for children aged 5-12.
Class winners were Matt Simpson (Dirt Bike), Kirk Handley (2WD), Brandon Gregory (Snowmobile), Matt Crawford (4×4), and Duncan Flieler (110 cc).
