Join Meta Employment Services as they dive into an immersive experience you will not forget.
META Employment Services proudly hosts their 4th annual Workplace Wellness Conference on May 4th and 5th at Isaiah Tubbs Resort and Conference Centre near our lovely town of Picton, Ontario.
“Prince Edward County has the perfect blend of beauty, accessibility and connection,” said META’s Marketing Specialist Peter Young. “Isaiah Tubbs Resort is the ideal location to host wellness discussions and activities while fostering opportunities to feel rejuvenated and resilient.”
Isaiah Tubbs provides a wide range of environments. Beach areas, wooded areas, grassy openings and various indoor spaces allow guests to engage with speakers and breakout hosts in a relaxing and unique way compared to many conferences with a traditional conference room setting.
META was established as a non-profit organization in 1981. They started as a remote vocational service based out of the Kingston General Hospital. For the past 30 years the agency incorporated and continued to offer vocational rehabilitation services based out of Belleville.
“META’s mission is to provide employment-related services to facilitate resilient, vibrant and ever-changing communities,” explained Young.
This year’s conference theme will be Returning with Resilience, with internationally renowned keynote speakers Neil Thornton, Michael Shoreman, and the Unstoppable Tracy.
“Mental Health challenges are something anyone can face and can impact the workplace on many levels. It’s important to communicate the challenges and collaborate to find solutions that benefit everyone,” said Young.
META believes the audience is bound to gain insight and motivation that will ensure a sense of resilience within themselves and others.
This year’s immersive breakout sessions include transforming team culture, the benefits of virtual reality for wellness, productivity, and soft skills development, neurodiverse workplaces, workplace yoga, aromatherapy as a tool to relieve anxiety and stress, the importance of hiring people with resilience, mindfulness strategies for 2023, and onshore paddleboarding.
“This event is geared towards people who can have an impact on workplace wellness within their own organization. Our audience consists of business leaders, managers, human resource professionals, social service workers and more,” said Young. “Our conference has something for everyone.”
On May 4th, audience members will focus on retention strategies that promote workplace wellness featuring professionals from Community Living Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Durham College, Enrichment Centre for Mental Health, and Jason’s Moving Company. Who will participate in a discussion panel?
On May 5th, they will discuss in depth the current challenges and future of mental health in the workplace with industry leaders from John Howard Society Kingston District, META Employment Services, Ontario Disability Employment Network, Serco Canada, and Work Smart Live Smart.
“We are hoping this event helps organizations to rebuild and maintain resilience. Our goal is to inform and inspire ways to help organizations assess, address and grow their workplace wellness,” said Young.
