A Grade 9 student from PECI was pronounced deceased at hospital on Saturday night after a tragic accident where the Millennium Trail intersects with Danforth Road north of Wellington. The Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate the fatal motor vehicle collision involving an SUV and a dirt bike. Police say they responded to the collision at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The initial investigation indicates an eastbound SUV collided with a dirt bike. As a result of the collision, a 14-year-old male from Prince Edward County was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured and no charges have been laid. The road was closed until approximately 2:30 a.m. while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionist investigated the scene.
