October 28–December 9
6–8pm
This 7-week beginner-level workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the art of documentary filmmaking. Meeting once a week for two hours, participants will learn the full process of creating a short documentary — from ideation and research to filming, editing, and final cut. Emphasizing collaboration, students will work in small teams and rotate through key production roles, including director, researcher, cinematographer, and editor. Through practical exercises, group critiques, and guided mentorship, participants will gain foundational skills in story development, interview techniques, camera operation, and editing software. By the end of the workshop, each team will have completed a short documentary film. No prior experience is required — just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn through doing.
