The Parish of St. Mary Magdalene was founded at Reverend Macaulay’s church (now a museum and part of Macaulay Heritage Park) in 1823. The historic link of community and faith between the ‘old church’ and St. Mary Magdalene has never been forgotten. On February 20th at 4 pm, during Flashback February, there will be an Evensong service at Macaulay’s church – a nod to the building’s original use and the important connection that lives on between the museum and the Parish. As a special treat this year, John Hall will provide musical accompaniment on the church’s original organ, which dates back to the 1850s. All are welcome, please join us! Admission is free, donations to the museums are appreciated.
