Attention all PEC kiddos! Got a PA Day coming up? Bring your grown-up to art class.
Invite your parent, grandparent, caregiver, or favourite adult to join you for a three-hour cyanotype printmaking workshop where you’ll create something amazing together. Think of it as your chance to get grown-ups off their screens and into the sunshine.
Designed for ages 7+, this workshop is led by artist Sara Keller, who will guide you through the magic of cyanotype, a historic photographic process that uses sunlight to create bold Prussian blue prints, often called sun prints.
Together, you and your adult will mix the chemistry, coat your own paper, arrange plants and interesting objects, and watch your images come together with UV light. You’ll experiment with fresh and pressed plants, string, stones, glass, and other materials while learning about composition, shadow, and layering. Most importantly, you’ll collaborate, share ideas, and build prints side by side.
Each participant will take home 3 to 5 finished prints. No experience is needed. All supplies are included.
